Wednesdays from 3:30 PM - 5 PM
Explore the art of printmaking through the hands-on techniques of gel plate printing and relief printing with linocut blocks. Participants will experiment with one-of-a-kind monotypes and layered gel plate prints, then learn the fundamentals of linocut, including designing, carving, inking, and printing a series, or edition. Young artists will explore texture, pattern, shape, and personal expression while discovering how a single design can be transformed into multiple unique prints. Through experimentation and creative exploration, each artist will develop a collection of original prints while gaining an appreciation for the unique possibilities of printmaking.
Note: Participants should have age-appropriate fine motor skills and dexterity to safely and independently use the carving tools required for linocut printmaking.
